HOLA! Family and friends call me Julette, "Marchesa" is my alter-ego, inspired by Marchesa Luisa Casati. It's a shout-out to all wanderers, dreamers, and fiercely independent women out there. This sense of independence and a case of itchy feet ignited the solo traveler in me. But unlike numerous travelers out there, I haven't quit my job to vagabond for life because I believe you can still see the world while juggling a career you love. I travel every opportunity I get. I work in advertising and have called Singapore my home for eight years now and the best thing about it is that it's a major travel hub, which enables me to travel far and wide during long weekends, extended holidays and the months-long sabbaticals I've taken over the years - mostly on the cheap. I've been to 50 countries across 5 continents, and counting.

I'm a fan of hyper documentation and if you check out my Instagram, I've chronicled my travels there earlier than on this blog. I love superlative adjectives when describing places, quoting Beyonce every so often, and prone to #THERESSOMUCHBEAUTYINTHISWORLDICANNOTDEAL moments. ;-)
